Story
Hello Gorgeous Humans,
I’m taking part in the Live Like Her Challenge to support women over 55 experiencing homelessness, often hidden, often overlooked, and growing faster than any other group in Australia.
They are known as the ‘hidden homeless’. Women who may be couch surfing, living in cars, or quietly slipping through the cracks. This could be someone’s mother, grandmother, sister, or friend. My own Mum, Nanna, Sister’s, Friends, Clients, Work Colleagues And the Women I meet each week on my outreach haircuts on the streets of Brisbane are experiencing this.
For one night, I’ll be sleeping in my car to raise awareness and funds so these women can access safe, secure housing and the support as well as dignity they deserve.
Every donation makes a real difference.

The Forgotten Women
The Forgotten Women is Mangrove Community Homes' flagship project, a unique, grassroots housing initiative dedicated to women over 55 experiencing homelessness - the fastest growing cohort in Australia today. The Forgotten Women's mission is simple: to put a safe roof over the heads of as many vulnerable older women as possible. Through the acquisition of suitable properties, the project provides secure, safe, affordable housing that enables older women to age in place with security, stability and dignity.
